About the Organisation and its Founders

The spiralling wave of violence in school milieus, increase number of adolescents in prisons, problems of career choices, school dropouts, poor academic performances and parenting of adolescents have become a crucial public concern to many parents, education stakeholders and the society at large especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. For the most part the blame on such aggressive and deviant behaviours have been attributed to the school system. Complaints such as inadequate or laisse faire disciplinary mechanisms, inattention to maximizing counselling services, inadaptable school environment characterised by attractive nuisance like bars around schools, neglectful parenting have been variously cited as the causes for adolescents’ extreme deviances or failure to be rooted to the holistic mission of schooling. It has also been realised that most students leave from secondary education to universities without knowing which career profile can be best for them. During admission processes in schools, students most often, are not oriented as far as their career choices are concerned. Some stray into wrong fields and find it very difficult to cope. Others suffer from career dilemmas and eventually abandon the programmes. As importance as these diagnoses might be the issue of adolescent management requires other modes of intervention that might not be effectively provided by the school system restricted by attention, resources and logistics. Even in war ridden contexts, public strategies in domesticating arm violence and structured criminality among adolescents have hardly pursued informed educational protocols which could easily leverage social guidance and rehabilitation among these targeted groups. Care-Hope Education comes in to provide a therapeutic package for this age group in diverse ways.
